Transportation/Construction Contract Manager

Job Summary

Conduct commercial support to resolve project issues, including application of contract provisions, working with technical and legal experts, and making recommendations for strategies and solutions. Draft and co-draft technical memos, policy papers, and issue analysis codifying recommendations, contract positions, or resolution documents. Review correspondence, oversee submittal responses, and coordinate project communication while acting as an on-site liaison for claims, formal disputes, and litigation. Perform administrative audits of processes, products, subcontracts, insurance, and bonding provisions to identify noncompliance and drive corrective actions. Mentor project staff on contract interpretation, communication protocols, and risk management, while drafting revisions to contract policies and provisions. Manage project risks, issues, and potential changes on a mega transportation project exceeding $4 billion, ensuring state and federal compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Legal Studies or related field
  • 15 years of project management, contract drafting & negotiation, construction claims resolution or related experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor or related advanced degree in Legal Studies, Business, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Project leadership role requiring engagement with and providing direction to all other project managers and staff
