Job Summary
Loading, unloading, and maintaining order and discipline on the bus. Support the bus driver and assist in preparing written disciplinary action reports. Safely secure students with seat belts, car seats, or wheelchair security systems; assist with special needs students and the use of mechanical life apparatus if necessary. Participate in emergency evacuations and drills; attend in-service and safety meetings; assist with cleanliness and enforcement of discipline as required. Roles require high school diploma or GED and 0-2 years of experience with children in a school setting; may require First Aid/CPR certifications and Title IX training. Strong communication and basic computer/office skills; ability to follow district policies and safety procedures and to work within a team to support student learning and safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational school or short-term courses
- 0-2 years' experience working with children in a school setting
- First Aid and CPR certifications may be required
- Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 200 pounds while assisting students in wheelchairs
