Job Summary
Drive school bus over assigned route abiding by all federal and state regulations and Mapleton Public Schools policies. Safely operate school buses and other large vehicles, provide care and assistance to passengers, and ensure safety of passengers enroute. Inspect vehicles and equipment, maintain fuel and fluids, manage passenger conduct, and submit records timely. May drive on weekends or for special day trips as needed. Requires High school diploma or GED, 60 hours of bus driver training, First Aid and CPR certifications, a DOT physical, and drug screening. CDL Class B with P and S endorsements is preferred at hire and must be obtained within 4 weeks after hire; mandatory Title IX training and two training courses within 30 days of hire are required. Strong emphasis on safety, passenger care, and teamwork with the Bus Paraprofessional; location is Denver, CO with on-site operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 60 hours of bus driver training
- First Aid and CPR certifications
- Department of Transportation physical exam
- Drug screening
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B with P and S endorsement preferred at hire; must be obtained within 4 weeks after hire
