Job Summary
Assist special education students and other passengers with safe loading and unloading from buses during normal transport and emergency situations. Lift and secure students and equipment, including wheelchairs and restraints, while monitoring students with special needs until released to teachers or parents. Inspect assigned vehicles for sanitation and safety, instructing students on rules and regulations to maintain well-being. Prepare and submit incident reports, passenger misconduct logs, and other documentation to comply with district guidelines. Attend unit meetings, in-service training, and workshops covering bus exit drills and deescalation techniques. Exhibit professional behavior and communicate clearly to serve as a model of professionalism for patrons and personnel.
