Job Summary
Transportation Assistant Manager oversees local inbound transportation operations to ensure on-time, interruption-free flow of inbound parts to the production line. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring delivery schedules, on-site supervision of dock/yard operations, carrier and dispatch management with KPI-driven performance, risk and issue management with corrective actions, cross-functional coordination with production, quality, procurement and suppliers, and preparing transportation capacity and processes for ramp-ups and new model launches. Incidents are documented and analyzed for root-cause actions, in a high-volume automotive manufacturing setting.
Required Qualifications
- 3â7 years of experience in transportation, logistics, inbound supply
- Strong understanding of production planning, delivery control, and inbound logistics operations
- Demonstrated ability to manage carriers, dispatch operations, and onâsite transportation activities
- Excellent problemâsolving, decisionâmaking, and crisisâresponse capabilities
- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and stakeholderâmanagement skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a highâvolume, timeâsensitive manufacturing environment
- English proficiency for communication with suppliers and logistics partners
