Transportation Account Manager

Job Summary
Serve as the primary Verst point of contact for assigned Transportation Management accounts, building relationships with Operations, Logistics, and Procurement leaders to drive profitability and retention. Lead customer onboarding, establish communication plans, and develop specific SOPs and routing guides to ensure service excellence. Own account health by monitoring margins, KPIs, and service metrics while partnering with carrier sourcing and pricing teams to optimize costs. Act as an inside sales resource to identify growth opportunities and coordinate contract reviews, renewals, and RFP activities. Develop Quarterly Business Reviews using Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint to present performance analyses and respond to ad hoc reporting requests. Maintain accurate documentation in Salesforce and oversee governance processes for data integrity. Travel periodically for customer meetings and business reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of transportation, logistics, supply chain, or account management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
- Ability to travel periodically for customer meetings and business reviews
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand profitability and margin drivers
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
- Experience utilizing CRM systems, preferably Salesforce
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Experience managing customer relationships within a 3PL, managed transportation, brokerage, or transportation management environment preferred
- Experience leading customer business reviews and performance reporting preferred
