Transport Supervisor

Job Summary
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Transport team, including dispatchers and drivers, while providing frontline support to resolve operational issues as they arise. Manage vehicle servicing, repairs, and Certificate of Fitness requirements by working closely with the workshop and following up with suppliers on parts and scheduling. Complete transport invoicing, prepare information for approval, and maintain accurate systems and records through systems administration and data entry. Provide coverage for annual leave, sick leave, and occasional Saturday morning dispatch support when staff are absent. Respond professionally to day-to-day complaints and operational challenges, maintaining strong communication between transport, dispatch, drivers, and suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- A full New Zealand Driver Licence
- Approximately 5 years' experience in transport, logistics, dispatch or operational coordination
- Previous experience supervising or coordinating an operational team
- Experience with systems administration, preferably Transport Management Systems, Oracle, Container Chain or similar
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to operational challenges
- The resilience to remain calm and professional when dealing with pressure, complaints and unexpected issues
- A strong work ethic and high level of integrity
