Job Summary
Coordinate depot activities and manage daily route dispatch to ensure smooth distribution operations while adhering to delivery policies. Lead and coach the delivery team on performance, absence management, and disciplinary processes, maintaining open communication with sales, warehouse, and transport departments. Oversee equipment maintenance, vehicle safety, and backhaul collections, ensuring strict compliance with security, health, and safety procedures. Drive as necessary and coordinate driver training to meet operational needs. This fixed-term role within Sysco's Dublin Distribution Centre supports the national network serving thousands of cafés and restaurants.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in a relevant management / supervisory role in a high volume, technology driven, time sensitive distribution operation
- Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Ability to plan and organise your own and your teams work activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner
- Strong knowledge of the Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive etc.)
- Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of service
- Proven ability to be an effective decision maker with a hands-on approach to the business
- Ability to analyse, interpret and explain and present relevant business data
- Fluent English – reading and writing
- High level of flexibility and problem solving
- A full clean Category C Drivers License, valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card and have a digital tachograph card
- Must possess a strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical area
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within the Food distribution industry is advantageous
