Job Summary
Transport Manager role at Frazer (STARK Building Materials UK) Glasgow branch. Lead day-to-day transport operations, manage a fleet of 6 trucks and 1 LGV, plan deliveries, coordinate third-party haulage, design efficient routes, ensure timely service, and maintain full compliance with transport legislation. Build strong relationships with drivers, suppliers, customers, and external partners; oversee driver compliance (tachographs, defect reporting, PMIs, service bookings); monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve service and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in logistics and transport planning with a strong understanding of transport legislation
- Previous experience managing transport operations and vehicle fleets
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong IT skills and regional geographical knowledge
- A proactive, flexible and enthusiastic approach
- Previous people management experience
- Experience within the builders' merchant, civils, construction supply, or distribution sector would be advantageous
