Transport/IP NOC Technician

Job Summary
Monitor and manage global IP and transport networks using enterprise tools in a 24/7 NOC environment supporting operations at Scott AFB, IL and Hill AFB, UT. Troubleshoot and resolve circuit and transport/IP issues using router commands, loops, alarms, and diagnostic tools. Utilize Remedy to create, update, and manage incident tickets, escalating critical network faults to Tier II/III engineering teams. Provide operational support for key mission systems such as JRSS, ESGS, ISR platforms, and Missile Defense communications while maintaining situational awareness of network performance and degradation. Apply networking principles to live environments with a focus on system reliability and security compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of relevant experience
- DoD-8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
- Experience in Alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance
- Managing or configuring routers, switches, and crypto devices
- Technologies such as DSN/DRSN, Cisco, Juniper, Promina, DWDM, Optical Switching
- General understanding of network topologies (transport and IP)
