Job Summary
Lead complex IT projects and initiatives within assigned locations, balancing resource priorities to meet scheduled deployments while sustaining day-to-day operational objectives. Manage the Transport Field/Base Network Engineer staff, including Incident Management, O&M, and support prioritization, ensuring all Government Directed Actions are completed timely to exceed Service Level Requirements. Supervise 10-20 direct-report employees, ensuring compliance with SAAR-N/PAA requirements and recurring training for privileged accounts. Develop and conduct training to maintain baseline skillsets, recertify annually, and enforce O&M responsibilities defined in the SMIT Performance and Work Statement. Oversee COMSEC Local Element support, managing hardware/software assets, key inventories, and equipment configuration. Contribute to Basis of Estimate submissions, ensure proper time charging discipline, and support ITSM improvement activities. Ability to travel 25% including some OCONUS travel.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or MS/MBA with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree at the discretion of the Hiring Manager
- Prior leadership responsibilities in a large-matrixed organizations
- DOD Secret Security Clearance w/ability to upgrade to and maintain a TS Security Clearance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experienced and adept at developing and maintaining technical documents, analyses, and reports
- Experienced with preparing and presenting briefings to senior customer management, customer stakeholders, and corporate management
- Working knowledge of the ITIL framework and best practices
- Working knowledge of defense-in-depth principles, network/HW/SW security architecture, network topology, IT device integrity, and common security elements
- Minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required prior to onboarding: CompTIA Security+ CE, CDN, ISC2 SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, or CYSA+
- Ability to travel 25% including some OCONUS travel
- 4+ years' SMIT/NMCI program support as a FBNE
- Ability to be scheduled to work, or be called in to work during off hours and weekends to meet customer mission support requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Top Secret Security Clearance
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in IT Management, Engineering, or related field
- Management experience in a NET/SEC DevOps environment
- 10+ years of extensive Ops/Eng Management experience within DoD network communications customer facing environment
- ITIL certification/training preferably including Service Strategy and Service Design (ITIL v4 Preferred)
- Agile certifications or operational experience in an Agile environment
- SMIT-NMCI NGEN
