Job Summary
Conduct safe highway transport of commercial motor vehicles up to 80,000 lbs, operating in challenging jobsites with limited space. Perform pre and post-trip inspections, load and unload equipment, and secure loose timbers with chains during transit. Maintain accurate HOS records, manifests, and electronic delivery logs while ensuring all loads are properly prepared and secured. Comply with ICC, DOT, and local traffic laws; monitor fuel, oil, water, and tire levels; and report equipment defects to the fleet coordinator. Work extra hours and scheduled days off as requested by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Valid South Carolina "B" CDL with less than three moving violations in the past three years
- Minimum of 1 year experience driving a combination vehicle between 10,000 and 26,000 Lbs. GVW
- Minimum of 1 year experience with operating construction or agriculture equipment
- Basic knowledge of DOT laws and regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to set and keep priorities while professionally handling the stress of operating in a fast paced industry with rigid time frames
- Enthusiastic hard worker with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision
- Current driver's license (Must keep driver's license current)
- Ability to lift varied weight
- Ability to see, read, and write
- Ability to use computer and other forms of technology
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of South Carolina's roadways
- Ability to obtain a class "A" CDL to include "passenger endorsement" within 12 months of employment
