Job Summary

Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily transportation activities to meet delivery deadlines and optimize route efficiency. Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of issues. Monitor transportation costs and work to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including safety and environmental standards. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including vehicle maintenance, driver logs, and delivery documentation. Analyze transportation data to generate reports and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed to support transportation requirements. Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected disruptions in transportation schedules and implement contingency plans. Skills: strong organizational and communication abilities, analytical data interpretation for operational improvements, proficiency with transportation management software and related technology, knowledge of regulatory requirements ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards applicable in the United States
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related discipline (preferred)
  • Experience with route optimization software and GPS tracking systems
  • Familiarity with freight and shipping documentation and customs regulations
  • Certification in transportation or logistics management (e.g., Certified Transportation Professional)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
