Job Summary
Transport Aide at Allina Health responsible for the safe, timely transport of patients, pharmaceuticals, lab specimens and blood products within the hospital. Transports patients to designated treatments, uses safe patient moving techniques and equipment, coordinates transport timing to meet patient care needs, communicates with patient care units about delays, recognizes emergencies, and utilizes electronic medical record transport system while supporting the healthcare team and maintaining a compassionate environment. Role includes .5 FTE (40 hours per 2 week pay period), 8 hour day/evening shifts, and every other weekend rotation. Provides patient movement support to reduce wait times and contribute to an efficient, healing hospital experience, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring transfer equipment is well maintained. Requires 18+ years old and BLS training within 30 days of hire; preferred high school diploma or GED and 0-2 years of healthcare/transport experience.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- In-house BLS or RQI BLS training within 30 days of hire
- 0-2 years of health care experience (preferred)
- 0-2 years of transport experience (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently
