Job Summary

Provide comprehensive infectious disease care for kidney and liver transplant candidates, living donors, and recipients across the continuum. Conduct pre-transplant evaluations, inpatient and outpatient consultations, and manage complex opportunistic and donor-derived infections. Develop antimicrobial treatment strategies, plan immunizations, and participate in organ acceptance discussions. Collaborate with transplant surgery, nephrology, hepatology, pharmacy, and infection prevention to create evidence-based protocols, ensure regulatory compliance, and advance quality initiatives. Lead shared call responsibilities and participate in multidisciplinary selection conferences. Work within Hoag Health's growing abdominal transplant program in Newport Beach, CA, supporting the development of clinical infrastructure and exceptional patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Disease
  • Active, unobstructed California medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • Full prescriptive authority and an active DEA in California, or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to successfully complete Hoag Health's credentialing process
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • Shared call responsibilities
