Job Summary
Transplant Coordinator I oversees the plans, directs and provides specialized nursing care with the primary emphasis on the treatment of individuals with end stage organ disease that are designated to have a solid organ transplant. Provides continuity and coordination of patient care, conducts patient and professional education initiatives. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and participates in donor awareness activities. Responsibilities include coordinating referral/evaluation processes, educating patients and families, tracking testing, and ensuring compliance with OPTN/UNOS guidelines. Requires RN license, BLS, 3 years nursing experience; preferred BSN. On-call and adaptable to irregular hours.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license (state where services will be provided or multi-state RN via eNLC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Three (3) years nursing clinical experience
