Job Summary
Conduct identification, inspection, and evaluation of vegetation and brush along utility lines; submit inspection results with recommendations and perform real-time crew checks. Plan, direct, and coordinate clearance crew activities while negotiating access issues and serving as a liaison between clients, work crews, and customers. Get estimates, build schedules, and set up work for contractors. Manage a geographical area for all vegetation-related activities in an independent environment, requiring self-motivation and strong communication skills. Work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules including nights and weekends. Valid driver's license and ability to drive long distances in the company vehicle required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or 4 year degree in Rangeland Management, Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or closely related field
- 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware
- Self-motivated
- Organized
- Production oriented
- Comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities
- Ability to work with stakeholders, utility customers and line clearance vendors
- Excellent interpersonal skill
- Strong verbal and written communication skill
- Multi-tasking
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather
- Flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
- Ability to hike lengthy periods of time to access lines throughout the region

Desired Qualifications
- Educational background in rangeland management, forestry, horticulture, natural resources, environmental studies, conservation or related disciplines
- Experience in these fields and line of work
- Vegetation management experience
- Ideally be located in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX and adjacent areas
- Required to travel to other areas when necessary
