Job Summary
Diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmission systems, disassemble, inspect, and rebuild transmissions using diagnostic tools and repair manuals. Perform road tests to verify repairs, communicate updates to service advisors, and maintain clean work areas adhering to Ford standards. Complete repairs efficiently while staying current with Ford training and certification requirements. This role offers competitive hourly pay, health benefits, and a 401k match at Group 1 Ford of Amarillo. Prior Ford experience and strong mechanical skills are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience as a transmission technician
- Ability to diagnose and repair both automatic and manual transmissions
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
