Job Summary
Conduct expert diagnosis, service, and repair of manual and automatic transmissions for Ford vehicles, including torque converters, valve bodies, and full rebuilds. Perform comprehensive inspections using electronic and hydraulic diagnosis, remove and re-install transmission systems, and execute fluid flushes and filter replacements. Collaborate with service advisors to explain complex technical repairs while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety and OEM protocols. Requires Ford STARS certification, A.S.E. certification, and minimum three years of transmission repair experience. Full-time role at Koons Falls Church Ford with hourly pay between $45 and $60, plus a $10,000 signing bonus for Ford Master Certification.
Required Qualifications
- Ford STARS certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transmission diagnosis and repair
- Strong understanding of Ford transmission models
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Must have basic tools
- Must have great technical and mechanical skills
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to work repetitively on complex tasks
- Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening
- Must be able to pass background check
- Must be able to pass drug test
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Ideally on Ford vehicles
- Familiarity with transmission control modules (TCMs) and related electronic systems
- A.S.E. Certification(s) in Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2)
