Job Summary
Process switching requests and analyze outage requests for contingencies, reliability impacts, and overloads. Maintain compliance with PJM outage coordination requirements while modeling scheduled outages in EMS/RTS to identify issues and provide solutions. Write procedures for equipment outages, restore service, and test energizing, and support operators with switching controls and technical assistance to control centers. Administer databases supporting control centers, prepare scheduling reports, and support emergency and storm response activities including extended-hour operations. Recommend and implement improvements to work processes and solutions to moderately complex issues.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- 0-2 years of related experience
- Works safely according to company policies and procedures
- Basic understanding of Transmission System Operations procedures, policies, practices
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical abilities involving complex problems
- Ability to learn the Energy Delivery Outage application, Transmission Outage database, EMS, Microsoft Office, SORS, eDART, FileNet
- Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Strong understanding of Transmission System Operations procedures, policies, practices
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical abilities involving complex problems
- Proficient in Energy Delivery Outage application, Transmission Outage database, EMS, Microsoft Office, SORS, eDART, FileNet
- 3-4 years of related experience
- In-depth understanding of Transmission System Operations procedures, policies, practices
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Excellent analytical abilities involving complex problems
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Technical expert in Energy Delivery Outage application, Transmission Outage database, EMS, Microsoft Office, SORS, eDART, FileNet
- 5-6 years of related experience
- In-depth understanding of Transmission System Operations procedures, policies, practices
