Job Summary
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities becoming proficient in all aspects. Utilize project management principles (Waterfall, Agile) and apply them to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close projects in a safe, economical, risk-balanced approach to deliver value and maximize customer satisfaction. Lead stakeholder communications across internal/external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, and vendors; promote continuous improvement to improve quality and delivery. Mentor other project managers and direct sub-team project managers; develop and manage procurement plans; oversee contracts and vendor performance; manage project/outage plans, schedules and budgets; provide clear written and oral status reports; ensure adherence to AEP System Safety Process and safety requirements; travel as needed and operate on-site in New Albany, Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field with three (3) years of qualified experience (SG7)
- Two-year Associate’s degree with five (5) years of qualified experience (SG7)
- High School Diploma/GED with seven (7) years qualified experience (SG7)
- PMP certification is preferred but not required
- Valid state driver’s license is required
- Experience in project management, major construction field experience, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, and/or comparable internal or external experience in a competitive production environment
