Job Summary
Lead engineering teams to prepare complex deliverables for overhead transmission line projects, managing budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines. Conduct research to develop equipment recommendations and perform complex calculations while serving as responsible charge for mega projects. Coordinate multi-discipline activities, manage client concerns, and drive solutions to achieve project goals. Review lower-level engineering work, handle hiring and pay administration for subordinates, and provide technical leadership for structural foundations, framing, and materials. Requires 10–12 years of experience in 69kV+ design with PLSCADD certification.
Required Qualifications
- 10–12 years (minimum 8) in transmission line design at 69kV+
- exposure to 500kV+
- PLSCADD IS REQUIRED
- Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering (open to Electrical, Mechanical, etc.)
- Experience in design of high voltage overhead transmission lines with strong understanding of PLS-CADD, line routing, structural loading design, foundation design, and overall project lifecycle
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing
- Minimum of 8 years related work experience
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) or design services overhead transmission line projects for investor owned utilities in the United States
- Good communication skills and interest in engaging with Clients to grow relationships
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards
- Working knowledge of interdisciplinary project coordination: procurement, subcontract administration, permitting, real estate and land acquisition, and construction support
- Working knowledge of the proposal process and developing engineering estimates
- P.E. License highly preferred
- Steel, wood, laminate, composite; lattice tower experience is a plus
- EPC experience helpful
- services work experience preferred
- Ability to lead engineering teams and mentor across projects, train professionals in PLSCADD
- Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects

- Reviews lower-level engineering work or assignments
- Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates
