Job Summary
Transmission Project Engineer responsible for the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization. Involves creating project scope documents, finite element design modeling with PLS-CADD, engineering design of structures and foundations, drafting of staking sheets, sag charts and construction exhibits, producing material and construction specifications, and guiding a project team under supervision of a Senior Engineer or Project Manager. Will assist in planning and execution of projects, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and mentor design staff, while ensuring quality and timely delivery for power delivery projects (substations, transmission lines, distribution systems, and related facilities). Occasional travel is required; ECI may require drug and background checks; some roles may require PE license; travel and office locations include Lincoln, Omaha, and Columbus in Nebraska.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master\'s degree in Civil Engineering
- 6+ years' project and design engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principles; knowledge of codes, standards, design tools
- PE license is preferred
- ability to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team
- subject to client-mandated drug and background checking
- occasional travel/driving
