Job Summary
Transmission Project Engineer responsible for conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new/upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through energization. Lead a project team with design calculations, detail drawings, specifications, and construction exhibits; perform PLS-CADD modeling and engineering design of structures and foundations; develop loading, framing, foundation and plan & profile drawing sets; create staking sheets and sag charts; produce material and construction specifications; assist project manager with client/stakeholder coordination, mentoring of junior staff, and quality assurance; may travel periodically; role requires strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to project schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 6+ years of project and design engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license (preferred)
- advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principals
- be able to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team
- subject to client-mandated drug and background checking
- occasional travel/driving required
- not requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future
