Transmission Planning Engineer (PE)

Job Summary
Complete Electric System Planning studies, Construction Work Plans, and Long-Range Plans based on transmission system analysis. Analyze existing transmission lines for conductor upgrades and communications cable additions, while conducting transmission connected generation studies in ERCOT. Research new technologies, methods, and equipment, and review system data to oversee monthly updating of system load data. Provide transmission project budget estimates, estimate quantities and costs for materials, equipment, or labor, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Represent Schneider and Client to stakeholders including property owners and engineering firms, communicating project timelines and feasibility. Requires a PE license, 5-10 years of transmission experience, and proficiency with PSS/E, Aspen Oneliner, and PowerWorld. Hybrid work available near San Antonio or Houston offices.

- 5-10 years' experience in Transmission for the Energy Industry
- Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional computer skills, with emphasis in project management, spreadsheet and word processing applications
- Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking
- Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
