Job Summary

Install, operate, test, adjust, repair, and maintain natural gas compressor stations and transmission facilities, including servicing pneumatic and hydraulic control systems. Perform overhauls on engines, compressors, and auxiliary equipment using bench, hand, and machine shop tools. Conduct visual, auditory, and mechanical inspections to determine repair needs, identify replacement parts, and prevent premature failure. Write and hold pipeline and station clearances while driving mid-size trucks, heavy-duty vehicles, and specialized equipment to remote job sites. Clean, lubricate, and adjust components to ensure proper operation and compliance with regulatory requirements. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including elevated heights, with extended hours and little notice.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to pass federally mandated random drug and alcohol testing
  • Pass the provisional training plan within timeline agreed to
  • Knowledge of construction and maintenance terminology, processes, and procedures
  • Knowledge of test and field equipment sufficient to set-up, use, and maintain
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights and on weekends, as well as holidays with little or no notice
  • Ability to apply welding and maintenance theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques - for example material selection, corrosion, metallurgy, pipe work, protection

Desired Qualifications

  • 3 years experience with maintenance of natural gas pipelines and compressor equipment
  • 3 years of experience with gas storage
  • 3 years of experience with refineries
  • Demonstrated knowledge and working experience with machine tools such as lathe, milling machine, drill press, and/or grinders
  • Previous participation in an active safety program participation and/or safety leadership role
  • Ability to demonstrate basic computer skills including use of MS Windows operating system, MS office suite
  • Basic math understanding
  • 1 year experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment
  • Record of residence within 50 Miles of the headquarters
