Job Summary
Lead and execute engineering for high-voltage overhead transmission line projects up to 765kV, including planning, design, concept development, and construction support. Create and maintain project schedules, conduct weekly meetings to outline deliverables, and coordinate with clients on status and scope variances. Forecast requirements for resource planning, adhere to QA/QC procedures, and lead teams while traveling to client offices or field facilities as needed. Provide technical leadership, mentor staff, and contribute to business planning and recruitment efforts. Expected salary for the Richmond, Virginia Area is $107K-$183K. Flexible remote or on-site work arrangements available in the Southeast region.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 7 -10 years' experience in the transmission field of designing/managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
- Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95
- Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
- Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities, as needed
