Job Summary
Transmission Line Engineer responsible for the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through energization. Will develop design calculations, detail drawings, specifications and construction exhibits, create project scope documents, perform PLS-CADD modeling, design structures and foundations, and produce staking sheets, sag charts, and material/construction specifications. Will assist with client coordination, mentoring of design staff, and project quality assurance, with occasional travel; requires a BS or MS in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of design/project experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years' design engineering experience or project engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license or progress towards licensure (preferred)
- fundamental knowledge of transmission engineering principals and applicable codes, standards, and design tools
- experience with basic project management execution skills and supervising design personnel (a plus)
- may be subject to client-mmandated drug and background checking
- occasional travel/driving required
