Job Summary

Design transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV, performing structural analysis for pole, lattice, and framed structures while developing foundation designs and conductor selection studies. Model lines in PLS-CADD to determine right-of-way, calculate sags, and create plan and profile drawings. Develop cost estimates, prepare procurement specifications, and review vendor submittals. Apply engineering principles to produce technical plans, drawings, and models using modern tools to automate workflows and reduce rework. This hybrid role requires three days in-office and offers a relocation package.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Two or more years related experience in transmission line engineering
  • Related engineering, internship or co-op work experience
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles including basic transmission line engineering
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%

Desired Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training
  • Proficiency with any of the following programs: PLS-TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, Microstation
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for engineering calculations
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318
  • Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation
  • Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems
