Transmission Engineer

Job Summary
Design high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD and prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings. Develop specifications and project design criteria while providing field support during construction. Build client relationships and offer technical leadership and guidance to less experienced staff. Requires a BS in Engineering with 3 years of transmission line design experience and FE exam completion. Local candidates preferred or open to relocation in St. Louis, Akron, or Columbus, Ohio. This is not a remote position.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen or a green card holder
- position is not eligible for sponsorship
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience
- 3 years related transmission line design experience
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in scheduling and budgeting
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Local candidates preferred or open to relocation
- This is not a remote position
Desired Qualifications
- Consulting or utility experience preferred
- Experience in HVDC is a plus
