Job Summary
Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms for electric transmission system projects, monitoring safe completion aligned with design specifications and safety standards. Manage a wide scope of projects including substation upgrades and new construction while proactively identifying issues such as design flaws, material shortages, and access challenges. Assist in resolving problems to maintain timelines, quality, and safety standards by interpreting engineering drawings and applying expert knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements. Mentor lower-level Transmission Construction Representatives, sharing best practices and ensuring correct application of methods and processes. Perform duties independently while demonstrating leadership and high-level expertise across various project types.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant transmission line and substation work experience
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Proficient at using a computer, iPad and Microsoft Office products
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be able to stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel
- Must be subject to rough terrain and inclement weather
- Must be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be required to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be required to travel
- Must be frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions
- Must work more than 40 hours per week
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in construction management or engineering
- Experience working in the utility industry
- Compliance management experience
