Job Summary
Transmission Construction Representative (TCR) to oversee contractor performance on electric transmission and substation construction projects. Ensure compliance with contract terms, safety standards, and design specifications; interpret engineering drawings for construction applications; manage projects from substations upgrades to new substations; monitor progress, identify issues (design flaws, material shortages, contractor performance, access challenges, customer concerns), and mentor lower-level TCRs. Requires 6+ years of experience, an associate degree (construction management or engineering) preferred, valid driver’s license, and US work eligibility. Strong problem solving, leadership, and communication skills are essential to ensure safe, on-schedule, and compliant execution; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant transmission line and substation work experience required
- Associate’s degree in construction management or engineering is a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Experience working in the utility industry is highly preferred
- Proficient with computers, iPad and Microsoft Office products
- Good verbal and written communication skills
