Job Summary
Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms for electric transmission system construction projects. Monitor safe work completion, aligning execution with design specifications and safety standards across substation upgrades and new builds. Proactively identify issues like design flaws or material shortages to maintain timelines, quality, and safety while interpreting engineering drawings. Mentor lower-level representatives and apply expert knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements. Perform duties independently with a valid driver's license and 6+ years of relevant experience. Work more than 40 hours per week in inclement weather on rough terrain.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant transmission line and substation work experience
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must be able to stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel
- Must be subject to rough terrain and inclement weather
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to work in outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week
- Must be able to perform all duties independently
- Must demonstrate leadership
- Must demonstrate a high level of expertise
- Must be able to mentor and train lower-level Transmission Construction Representatives (TCR)
- Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills
- Must demonstrate communication skills
- Must demonstrate leadership skills
- Must be proficient at using a computer, iPad and Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to ensure contractors adhere to all contract requirements
- Must be able to monitor the safe completion of work
- Must be able to ensure alignment with design specifications and safety standards
- Must be able to manage a wide scope of projects
- Must be able to proactively identify potential issues that could impact project success
- Must be able to assist in resolving issues to maintain project timelines, quality, and safety standards
- Must be able to interpret engineering drawings
- Must be able to provide guidance for their application in construction
- Must be able to ensure compliance with Owner construction standards and safety terms
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in construction management or engineering
- Experience working in the utility industry
- Compliance management experience
