Transmission Construction Representative

Job Summary

Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with contract terms for electric transmission system construction projects. Monitor safe work completion, aligning activities with design specifications and safety standards across substation upgrades and new construction. Proactively identify issues such as design flaws, material shortages, or access challenges, then resolve them to maintain project timelines and quality. Interpret engineering drawings to guide construction application while mentoring lower-level representatives on best practices. Perform duties independently with expert knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant transmission line and substation work experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be able to stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel
  • Must be subject to rough terrain and inclement weather
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be able to work in outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week
  • Must be proficient at using a computer, iPad and Microsoft Office products
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to perform all duties independently
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise
  • Must be able to proactively identify potential issues that could impact project success
  • Must be able to assist in resolving issues to maintain project timelines, quality, and safety standards
  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings
  • Must be able to apply expert knowledge of line, substation, and civil construction requirements
  • Must be able to ensure compliance with Owner construction standards and safety terms

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in construction management or engineering
  • Experience working in the utility industry
  • Compliance management experience
