Job Summary
Transload Operator needed in Tucson, AZ to safely and timely transload sulfuric acid from railcars into tanker trailers. Responsibilities include understanding and following operating procedures, overseeing safe and efficient rail operations, communicating with dispatch, drivers, customers, and terminal management, and reporting railcar status. The role is safety‐sensitive and requires lifting up to 80 lbs, extensive PPE use (including respirators), ability to work 10–12 hour shifts, and working outdoors in various conditions. The position may involve occasional work at Port of Tucson and other sites. Candidate must possess a valid driver license, meet background checks, pass pre-employment drug testing, and have at least some transloading and railroad operations familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver License
- Minimum 18 Years of age
- No more than 2 moving violations within the previous 3 years
- No major violations within the previous 5 years
- Ability to pass a controlled substance test at pre-employment
- Prior transloading experience is highly preferred
- General knowledge of railroad operations & familiarity with brake systems on railcars, preferred
- Mechanical abilities to troubleshoot and isolate malfunctions preferred
- Successful respirator physical, and respirator fit test
- Authorized access to Freeport McMoRan Inc. (FMI)
- Meet minimum background check requirements for FMI
