Transload Operator

Job Summary
Conduct transloading of bulk, liquid, hazardous, and dry commodities between railcars, trucks, and storage units while operating forklifts, front-end loaders, conveyors, pumps, and hoses. Inspect railcars, trucks, and containers for cleanliness, defects, and proper sealing by climbing onto tops and crawling underneath. Monitor product flow, pressure, and volume; verify quantities and ensure accuracy of bills of lading and shipment documentation. Record measurements, temperatures, weights, and other required data; complete electronic or paper documentation accurately. Communicate shipment discrepancies or quality issues to supervisors. Report mechanical issues and support maintenance teams with troubleshooting. Perform basic maintenance such as cleaning filters, greasing fittings, and checking fluid levels. Wear all required PPE including FR clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and respirator. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, rain, and sub-freezing temperatures, lifting at least 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Willing to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materials
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or overtime as needed
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial tools/equipment
- Ability to read, write, and understand operating procedures and safety documents
- Willing to receive general safety training
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Physically able to climb up and down rail-cars/ladders safely
- Ability to work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)
- Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds
- In good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
