Job Summary
Translate English US content into English Canadian for software, marketing, or legal projects, ensuring target text accurately reflects source meaning while maintaining key terminology and cultural references. Perform linguistic tasks per project instructions, including correcting formatting, punctuation, and style guidelines using CAT tools like SDL Studio. Verify high grammatical accuracy and spot inconsistencies in embedded variables within XML environments. Maintain confidentiality and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment with tight deadlines. This role supports STAR7's product information and content life cycle as a leading Language Service Provider in sustainable mobility.
Required Qualifications
- Native in target language
- Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or equivalent experience
- IT skilled with knowledge and experience of SDL Studio and CAT tools
- Comfortable with technology
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Obsessed by the detail, quality-driven and has a passion for languages
- Understanding and attitude to work within a confidential environment
- Able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment with multiple changes in project priorities and tight deadlines
- Available to travel as the business calls
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Good availability, potentially at least 4 hours per day and quick response times
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience as a translator specialized in translation and proofreading of the required field depending on individual fields of expertise (marketing ad/and software and/or legal)
- As a plus, experience translating content containing embedded variables in an XML environment with a high comfort level in manipulating XML type tags during translation
- Demonstrated aptitude to independently learn new technologies
- Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
- Flexibility to respond and react to changing priorities quickly and efficiently
