Job Summary

Translate special education documents such as evaluation reports, eligibility determinations, meeting notices, and progress reports from English into Spanish or other languages. Ensure translations are accurate, clear, and culturally responsive while maintaining the original meaning, then review and edit for grammar, readability, and consistency. Handle all student records with strict confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws and department policies. Submit completed translations and invoices to the Director of Special Education for approval within two weeks of receipt. This contracted role supports families with non-English primary languages by providing equitable access to critical educational information.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience translate special education
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (native or near- native fluency)
  • Familiarity with special education documents, Special Education Terminology and educational process
  • Strongly written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work outside of regular working hours to translate special education documents, as needed
  • Ability to work independently, and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to handle student records with a strong level of confidentiality and sensitivity
