Job Summary
Coordinate Title I parent-teacher conferences, attendance meetings, and literacy nights by arranging schedules, making phone calls, and interpreting communications between school staff and Spanish-speaking families. Translate essential documents including case-specific attendance letters, field trip permissions, principal requests, and educational event information to ensure accurate message delivery without distortion. Assist with crisis interventions and support the CCPS Parent Resource Center as needed while maintaining confidentiality and positive relationships with colleagues and parents. Travel to schools throughout the division and central office for on-site duties, with potential evening hours for informational meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in reading, speaking and writing in both Spanish and English
- Have experience translating English to Spanish
- High School Diploma or GED
- Travel to schools throughout the division and central office may be required
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting, up to approximately 40 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds may be required
- Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all CCPS employees
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities
- Regular contact with staff members and administrators is required

- May be a member of the American Translator Association (ATA)
