Job Summary
Translate game text, scripts, manuals, and web content from Japanese to English, ensuring accuracy and cultural resonance. Create preparation materials like terms lists and voiceover scripts, then collaborate with editors to refine localizations. Become familiar with assigned builds by playing them, creating summaries, and sharing insights with the project team. Coordinate with Project Leads to track progress, attend daily or weekly meetings, and resolve localization challenges for jokes and idioms. Update style guides and glossaries while staying current with video game trends and subcultures. Attend voiceover recording sessions as needed. This hybrid role requires in-office attendance for collaboration and supervision, with a focus on delivering top-class Japanese products to Western markets.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in Japanese (written and verbal)
