Job Summary
Maintain a healthy environment in a group setting for youth to meet individual goals while providing supervision to foster care or homeless youth. Assist youth with self-esteem, independent living skills, and life skills including cooking, shopping, transportation, and budgeting. Offer para-counseling in crisis and non-crisis situations, intervening by contacting emergency services when necessary. Observe behavior, conduct reports, and keep written records. Manage household operations by purchasing supplies, preparing meals, ensuring proper attire, and maintaining the house, yard, and vehicle. Coordinate with professional staff to implement treatment plans. Maintain financial records for monthly audits and arrange medical services and appointments. Work part-time with a valid driver's license, drug-free status, and a criminal background check.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a Bachelor's degree from a college or university in a field related to human services
- Must have 2 years of experience working with people
- Must be of good moral character
- Must be able to serve as a positive role model for youth
- Must be able to work under a great deal of stress
- Must be willing to seek on-the-job training
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be drug-free
- Must pass a criminal background check
