Job Summary
Design engaging lessons aligned with KIPP's academic vision and analyze student data regularly to inform instruction. Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment grounded in Restorative Practices and Social Emotional Learning while using culturally responsive strategies to ensure safety and high expectations. Communicate proactively with families, colleagues, and leaders to build strong partnerships and engage fully in weekly professional development. Maintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and behavior data. This full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar cycle supports a network of 7,000+ students across seven California sites, preparing them for college, career, and beyond.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Hold a valid teaching credential in the subject of your desired role
- Be eligible for a General Education Limited Assignment Permit, Provisional Internship Permit, or Short Term Staff Permit
- CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Ability to navigate school and classroom settings
- Ability to access and utilize technology
- Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-20 lbs
- Physical agility to move self in various positions in order to execute duties effectively, which may include kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping and reaching overhead
- Ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives
- Ability to work with interruptions
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
- Ability to read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall objects and people
- Ability to adhere to KIPP's health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies' recommendations
