Transition Intervention Specialist

Job Summary
Plan, organize, coordinate, and support the transition of students from suspension and alternate placements back to the classroom. Collaborate with staff, teachers, administrators, and counselors to ensure students apply behavioral strategies and coping mechanisms to respond to stressors, and to make successful transitions back into the traditional school environment. Conduct Behavior Consults and Environmental Analysis, provide on-site crisis assistance, assist with progress monitoring (e.g., Review 360), collect data to inform interventions, and consult with administrative staff on behavior programming and data. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethics in line with Mississippi standards. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Mississippi Department of Education certification.
