Job Summary
Design and support implementation of a comprehensive transition program for transition-aged students (14+) within CAIU, including assessment, in-class curriculum and out-of-class experiences; lead educational teams in developing, maintaining, and implementing transition services; collaborate with local businesses and agencies to enhance the program; participate in IEP teams and professional development; advise administrators on best practices and regulations; complete required federal/state reports; transport students when necessary; uphold CAIU mission and plan; assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor/Executive Director.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred
- Valid, active Pennsylvania Instructional II certification in special education
- Certification in a restraint management system as required by the assignment
- Experience working with students of transition age (13-21)
- Experience working with transition related assessment, programming, and activities, including but not limited to post-secondary training, employment, and independent living
- Ability to design and support implementation of transition related programming
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with Special Education rules and regulations
