Job Summary
Provide Direct Support to children aged 10-18 within Transition & Children's Services; help them build stable lives, learn life skills, form friendships, and develop effective communication. Work with advanced training in mental health and positive behavioral support to promote consistent, stable, and productive lives. Duties may include distributing medications, cooking, house cleaning, yard maintenance, handling challenging behaviors, and ensuring a safe living environment. Must be ethical, patient, reliable, tenacious, compassionate, and adaptable; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; enjoy teamwork and ongoing training. Evening, full-time shifts available with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a wage of $20 per hour; benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Supplemental Insurance, FSA, 401(k), and other discounts; DHS background checks, driver’s license requirements, and certifications (Oregon Intervention System, CPR) required; new-hire orientation within 60 days.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Cooperative and willing to learn
- Ability to interpret various instructions
- Enhanced math skills – balance a budget and basic math transactions
- Professional, clear, and positive oral and written communication in English
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Dependable, reliable, and regular attendance
- Must pass DHS background check and Protective Service Investigations
- Most positions require a valid driver’s license; some positions may be available for non-drivers
- Must obtain and maintain certification to a satisfactory level in Oregon Intervention System (training provided)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
- Complete duties related to Mandatory Abuse Reporter
- New hire orientation and on-site training within 60 days of hire
