Job Summary
Provide information, coordination, and assistance to transitioning Reserve Component Members, their family members and Veterans to access benefits and services through Veterans Affairs and the military health system. Responsibilities include outreach via social media and outreach marketing; coordinating with Veterans Affairs centers, TRICARE, and Veterans Service Organizations; researching and resolving transition-related issues; advising on benefits including employment assistance, health and life insurance, education and training, relocation assistance, and legal and financial supports; and supporting reintegration initiatives. Must hold an associate degree or equivalent experience, be a U.S. citizen, possess military-protocol knowledge, and be able to obtain Tier 1 clearance. Travel up to 50% locally and up to 20% long-distance/overnight is required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or three years of related experience
- U.S. citizenship
- Working knowledge of military protocols
- Tier 1 security clearance (Must pass and maintain)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Willingness to travel up to 50% locally and 20% long-distance/overnight
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university in social services, human resources or related field
- OR three years of equivalent experience in related fields such as Veteran’s administration, social services, employment services, and human resources
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have working knowledge of military protocols
- Pass and maintain Tier 1 clearance
- Prior military experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Willingness to travel up to 50% locally and 20% long-distance/overnight
