Job Summary
Conduct database maintenance, enter, revise, and validate safety data while preparing monthly status reports and progress reports for submission. Monitor electronic document notices, analyze accident statistics, and track identified hazards to ensure compliance with the System Safety Program Plan. Coordinate with design disciplines to verify hazard analysis findings and prepare necessary CDRLs, actively participating in internal and external committees. Maintain business applications using standard software and present statistical information through computer-generated reports.
Required Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in a safety, engineering or mathematical science related field or equivalent number of years of experience
- Demonstrated equivalent experience, education and/or technical credentials may be considered in lieu of degree
- Must have a working knowledge or the ability to learn the physical and operating characteristics of passenger vehicles and facilities
- Must possess a working knowledge of accepted techniques for data evaluation, mathematical analyses and statistical development
- Required to possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate personal computer systems to develop and maintain business applications using standard software such as Windows, MS Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
- Required to possess demonstrable skills necessary to effectively present statistical information in various computer-generated reports including graphs and charts
- Must possess a temperament suitable to effectively relate to all levels of personnel, clients, external business contacts and the general public
- Must possess the skills necessary to express oneself orally and in written format in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner
- Must possess employment verification, verification of eligibility to work in the U.S., and, criminal history background check
- This is an hourly position. Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, though some weekend activity may be required.
- Out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required. This position will require on-site presence at project sites for potentially extended periods.
- Ability to perform office-based work (extended periods of sitting, use of computer and standard office equipment).
- Ability to conduct field work in operational environments, which may involve: Walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs or ladders, standing for extended periods; Exposure to noise, weather, dust, and moving vehicles or equipment; Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- This position may be subject to applicable drug and alcohol testing and related compliance obligations.
