Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and execute complex transit rail construction phases for BART capital projects, including work sequencing, outage planning, and contractor coordination. Manage constructability reviews, staging plans, and site logistics while overseeing construction activities within active rail corridors and operating facilities. Lead development of construction phasing strategies and monitor contractor performance to ensure successful execution of project milestones with minimal impact on revenue service and passengers. Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, and risk management from pre-construction through closeout, evaluating solutions for field conflicts and managing change orders. Prepare executive-level progress reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Transportation Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressively responsible construction management experience involving transportation, rail, transit, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
- 5+ years managing complex multi-phased construction projects in active operational environments
- Experience coordinating contractors, engineering teams, operations personnel, and public agency stakeholders
- Strong understanding of construction management principles, cost controls, scheduling, and contract administration
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- The position requires the successful completion of applicable pre-employment substance screening and background checks
