Job Summary
Transit Planner role leading and supporting multi-disciplinary transit planning and analysis projects across the Pacific Northwest (Seattle/Puget Sound region, rural Oregon/Washington) with a hybrid in-office/remote schedule. Responsibilities include conducting rail and bus studies, corridor and service planning, multimodal access initiatives, feasibility and environmental planning studies, long-range transportation plans, and developing data-driven planning materials using GIS and technical writing. Collaboration with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients, plus involvement in business development and proposals to grow STV’s Seattle/Puget Sound presence. Requires 4+ years of transit planning experience; bachelor’s degree required with master’s preferred; strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; proficiency with Office; GIS experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in transit and transportation planning
- Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, or comparable professional experience in related fields such as Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy and Administration, or related areas
- Experience preparing transit master plans, transportation analysis, alternatives analysis, environmental technical reports, and related planning documents
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; GIS or graphic illustration programs preferred
