Job Summary
As a Transit Ambassador, you will assist MTA customers, particularly those with disabilities, ensuring equal access to transit facilities. Responsibilities include directing customers, assisting with station entrances and exits, boarding vehicles, and using fare vending machines. You will inspect transit stations for cleanliness and safety, and provide customer service support during special events and construction-related bus detours. Competence with mobile apps, especially the Transit App, is essential for effective customer support.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must own a working cell phone with WiFi/data capability
- Ability to stand for 4-12 hours
- Good customer service skills
